Commissioned to create a shaded meeting space beside a newly rennovated playspace, Artists Jim Buchanan and Emma Varley combined the oak leaf motif, with the Nature’s colour paleete – Mustard Powder lichen or Gold Dust lichen (Chrysothrix candelaris  which commonly grows on tree bark).

Public consultation workshops informed the design through scale maquette building. The technical design was refined with structural engineering and fabrication undertaken by local firm WEC Fabrication. Jim led the process from design workshops, technical resolution through to install.
