Labyrinths of Light

Projects have utilised projection, sun light, mirrors, the naked flame and lens optics.

Light projections are a duet between illumination and shadow, with the choreograhy of human movement calibrated to reveal or obscure the journey.

Whilst light can represent the ‘timeless’ such as the heavens, the spiritual and the cosmos, the persons shadow anchors them in a liminal zone between full light and darkness. Some of Jim’s projects introduce a secondary material – such as the water within a swimming pool, this embeds the journey within the material world, seemingly guided by celestial illuminance.
